I would not necessarily write a story about these characters because the idea has already been created and recreated, but I thought I'd give it a whirl with a few average characters in a small Midwestern town.
Setting- Midwestern rural town
Rena Samson- House wive who is married to small town farmer Billy Joe Samson. They have 1 year old quadruplets.
Billy Joe Samson- small town farmer who inherited his farm from his grandfather and father. Simple minded, country man who wants nothing more in life than to work on the farm, and to take care of his wife and four children.
Conflict- Rena wishes she could be in Hollywood to fulfill her dream of becoming an actress. She had an affair on Billy Joe with a man from L.A. who was passing through town. She got pregnant with his four children, whom he does not care for.
Resolution- Rena is learning to cope with her guilt and fall back in love with her husband who is dedicated to her and her children. Billy Joe is working through his hurt and mistrust in order to save his marriage and family, and be the father he always wanted to be.
Friday's class: We talked about unraveling the layers of characters. Our assignment is to come up with unusual characters, a conflict, and a resolution to create a unique story.
