We talked in class about dialogue, character development and how to be creative in story making.
We watched the clip from Full Metal Jack where Sgt. Hartman breaks down his newborn army men. Pvt. Joker and Pvt. Pyle are two men that become victims to Hartman's slander. They later become significant characters in the film.

The audience falls victim to Hartman's slander

Dialog is important to a story. It helps the reader have a sense of direction to the story and also helps engage the reader. Often times when a story is only narrative, the reader becomes bored. Dialog helps give a life to each character.
